Jeffrey Orleans, Chief Executive Officer of A. P. Orleans Risk Management, LLC and J.P. Orleans Development is a third generation home builder, continuing the tradition begun more than 90 years ago when Alfred P. Orleans, Jeffrey’s grandfather, built the first home to carry the family name, Orleans.
With over 40 years in the business, Jeffrey Orleans’ hands-on approach to product design and in-depth knowledge of the construction process has earned him the excellent reputation of providing well-built homes of outstanding value offered at a fair price. Through his experience and leadership in home building, Mr. Orleans enjoys strong relationships with developers, townships, contractors and other home builders and is well-connected throughout the region.

Jeffrey Orleans learned the building trade from the ground up, starting in the field and moving through the ranks. He joined his father and grandfather in business while still attending Drexel University. Mr. Orleans focused his attention on southern New Jersey, where many Pennsylvanians increasingly turned for housing. Jeffrey Orleans became Chairman, President and CEO of the Orleans family’s business in 1986.

Mr. Orleans successfully led the company through the difficult market downturn during the late 1980s and early 1990s. 1995 saw the beginning of ten consecutive years of strong earnings growth, with revenues in 1995 at $108 million to $396,294,000 in 2005. During this time, Mr. Orleans brought the company into Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia, parts of South Carolina and Chicago, Illinois, and central Florida and had almost 1,000 employees. This success attracted media recognition. With Mr. Orleans at the helm, the company was listed as one of the top 50 fastest-growing home builders in America by Builder magazine; ranked third by Forbes on its list of 200 Best Small Companies; and 33 by Fortune on its list of the 100 Fastest Growing Companies.
Jeffrey Orleans currently sits on the Board of Thomas Jefferson University. He has served on the Drexel Board of Trustees and on the LeBow Dean’s Advisory Board. Mr. Orleans is a Lifetime Director of the National Association of Home builders; Director, Past President and Lifetime Member of Builders’ League of South Jersey; President of the Lower Merion Township Police Pension Association. He is a former Trustee or Board Member of Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts; Philadelphia Orchestra; Philadelphia Police Foundation; Jewish Employment and Vocational Services; and Delaware Valley Habitat for Humanity.

Mr. Orleans was entered into the NJBA Hall of Fame, 2010; Chairman of Academy of Music 149th Anniversary Concert and Ball 2006; has received a Commendation from the City of Hope National Medical Center; named Businessman of the Year by the Pennsylvania Directors Association for Community Action, and selected as Man of the Year by the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science.
